So, first thing . .. What is Temenos?
Well actually, the photo above is a Temenos . . . .Lourdes. France.
wikipedia and the dictionaries, describe as;
Noun. temenos (plural temenoi or temene) A piece of land marked off from common uses and assigned as a sacred circle where one can be oneself without fear.
Oxford English Dictionary - A piece of ground surrounding or adjacent to a temple; a sacred enclosure. Greek, from the stem of temnein ‘cut off’.
Some authors have used the term to apply to a sacred grove of trees,[8] isolated from everyday living spaces, while other usage points to areas within ancient urban development that are parts of sanctuaries.[9]
So Lourdes, could definitely fall into this category, as can many other sacred place.
Temenos a sacred hallowed place - set apart, set aside, as a safe place to worship, to be with God/deity.
So this briefly explains why I chose to call Beautiful You Sanctuary - Temenos of the Soul. A Sanctuary, set aside place for you Soul / Spirit.
